De Tomaso Automobili SpA was founded by the Argentine-born Alejandro de Tomaso, in Modena, Italy, in 1959. Originally known for producing sports prototypes and racing cars (including a Formula One car for Frank Williams' team in 1970), the marque soon gained recognition for making sports cars such as the Pantera and Mangusta..
