The Platypus GravityWorks filtration system is fast and straightforward to use. We tested the four-liter version of this product and found it to be one of the most versatile and reliable systems in our lineup. Designed for base camp use, it has a plethora of applications. Not only can it filter 4L of water in under five minutes, but it doubles.. The dirty bag uses a Platypus 4 liters (1 gallon) Water Tank-style zip-lock style opening so it's easy to fill in-stream without having to scoop 4 liters of water up by hand. That's a nice touch, really. Simply find a small stream pour over and fill it up. The first step is to fill the dirty bag with raw water from a stream or pond.

Remove the bite valve from the drink tube. b. Cut a small section off the end of the drink tube. c. Clean the bite valve and hose with rubbing alcohol. d. Wet the end of the drinking tube with water or saliva and slide the bite valve back onto the end of the drink tube. e. Let it all dry (at least overnight).. 1. Fill the clean bucket with water. 2. Submerge the Platypus Gravity Filter in the bucket of water and allow it to fill up. 3. Swish the filter around to agitate any debris that may be inside of it. 4. Open up the Platypus Gravity Filter and rinse out the filter element with clean water. Be sure to also rinse out the dirty water reservoir.
